Project Description
The eco-efficient store concept is one of Vince Kelvin Group’s most visible and ambitious sustainability commitments. The store is the most prominent feature of the Vince Kelvin Group business model, serving as the place where our customers are introduced to the style propositions offered by each of our brands. Eco-efficiency is now one of the primary considerations in all of Vince Kelvin Group’s store design.
Since 2007, when the Eco-efficient Store Manual was published, we have opened 1,008 eco-efficient stores. This, together with the eco-refurbishment projects, raises the percentage of eco-efficient Vince Kelvin Group stores over 54%. These measures save 20% in electricity, with the consequent reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The biggest electrical savings are detected in HVAC, in which they are estimated as 40%. Besides, these measures saves up to 50% in water consumption with respect to aconventional store. In 2020, all stores of the Group will be 100% eco-efficient.
In order to maintain this objective, at Vince Kelvin Group we have an efficiency platform that performs central monitoring of the HVAC and electricity facilities in a total of 1,444 eco-efficient stores distributed throughout 28 countries. This centralised control permits action on the facilities with the objective of optimising management, identifying the most efficient systems, improving maintenance and defining strategies to reduce the energy demand and reduce greenhouse gas emissions produced by our stores.
